As a student of algebra, I would always look for a way to have someone do my algebra homework for me, simply because I worked a job which did not grant me time to manage homework, extracurriculars, and studies at the same time.
Naturally, I outsourced my homework to focus on studies and work. However, students today face a different dilemma when studying algebra. Almost every student who solves algebraic equations says, “I’ll never use this math in real life.”
But this is far from the truth. People use algebra in most parts of their daily lives. For example, people at the market use algebraic operations to figure out how much money they made or lost.
Even though we don’t see any “X” or “Y,” that doesn’t mean that algebra hasn’t shown that it exists. Still, there are too many real-world examples of algebra to count. This clear and concise language of math fits beautifully with almost every other subject and even with everyday life.
The word “algebra” comes from the Arabic word “al jabr,” which means “to put back together what was broken.” Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a mathematician, geographer, and astronomer from Persia in the 9th century. He is often called “the father of algebra.”
Some ways algebra is used in everyday life.
New Born
In the early stages of development, a baby uses algebra to figure out where things are going, which might surprise you. A 16-week-old baby can figure out which way an object is coming from and even where it will land.
Babies can easily figure out how far away a toy is from them and also follow it. What do you think might be going on? It’s Algebra, of course! Even though babies don’t know how algebra works in a theoretical sense, they are still able to use it effectively.
Professional Life
No matter what you want to do, you will need algebra to get ahead. When a student goes from high school to college, algebra is likely to show up in whatever subject they choose. Most of the time, algebraic equations are used in the physical and chemical sciences.
In computer science, algorithms are only based on operations from algebra. Algebra is also used in art and architecture to figure out the right proportions so that a masterpiece can be made. People who know the basics of algebra are also better prepared for the work world.
Morning
Algebra is used from the moment a person wakes up in the morning. So, if someone has a meeting in the morning, what are they likely to do? He or she will set an alarm to wake up in the morning so that they can get ready and gather all the important papers.
What is actually going on here? Algebra is used, whether on purpose or not, to figure out how long it will take to take a shower, eat breakfast or get coffee, gather all important papers, and get to work on time. Now, in this situation, you need to figure out time, money, and distance correctly to get to the meeting on time.
Business & finance management
In business, algebra is just as important as it is in other fields. A business owner uses algebraic operations to figure out how much money he or she made or lost. An entrepreneur will use algebra to figure out if a piece of equipment will lose value while it is in stock.
Also, the owner of the business needs to figure out the lowest price at which an item can be sold and still make enough money to cover the costs. When it comes to people who work in finance, exchange rates and interest rates are often shown in algebraic form. To do finances correctly, you need to know how to use algebraic operations well.
